What is a DBS?

A DBS stands for Disclosure and Barring Service.

The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) helps employers make safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups, including children. It replaces the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) for more information click here.

Why do we have DBS checks?

Our main priority is your safety, as part of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 any business that carries out Regulated Activities MUST be DBS checked. As we provide personal care, a shopping service and an escorting to appointments service which are regulated activities, the law requires us to ensure we are fully DBS checked.
